Ever since I was a little girl, I was fascinated with all things old. My grandmother was my inspiration. With love and encouragement from my husband, Jim; and in honor of my grandmother, Aylward Antiques came to be. [showhide type=”post”] With busy lives and two children to raise what little spare time we had was devoted to creating a business from hard work and passion.
Jim and I would like to welcome you to Aylward Antiques at The Barn at Todd Farm. We are excited to give you a glimpse of our offerings, from small to large, treasures that evoke a sense of home and history; a story of family memories. Always changing, our finds are truly eclectic, fresh, inspired and unique.
Stop by and visit. Our talented group of dealers and artisans share the same passion as we do. Our time at ‘The Barn’ has been a privilege. With our kindred spirit in Barbara Breaker, your visit and company will be welcomed.
As always, Enjoy![/showhide]
I began my love affair with decorative antiques organizing an antique show fundraiser for my son’s preschool twenty five years ago. After years of participating regularly in church and historical society shows, I found The Barn at Todd Farm to be the perfect spot for all the interesting pieces that catch my eye. I love putting together vignettes of everything from folk art to fine silver…and discovering ways to make these pieces work in today’s homes. It’s wonderful to be a part of this beautiful creative collaboration called The Barn.
Old Friends, Frances Harper of …apple of my eye…and Karen Searl of Karen’s Treasures, met the late 1980’s while traveling around selling their handmade artist teddy bears. Over the years things changed, and with our love for antiques and things handmade we decided to make some changes and put down roots in a local antique shop. In December, 2014, we joined Barbara Breaker in her new adventure, the opening of “The Barn at Todd Farm”.
The shop is located in a beautifully renovated cattle barn on the Todd Farm Flea Market property. Our traditional style incorporates primitives, a little industrial, lots of Americana, repainted, re-purposed and as found condition. We accent with handmade pillows, table runners, lampshades and florals. We are constantly refreshing our space and would love for you to stop by and take a look.
My love of old things, treasure hunting, and Making all come together in my corner of The Barn at Todd Farm. Offering a varied selection of fine handcraft, textiles, antiques, and vintage, everything that I love has found its place. I am a rug hooker, knitter, and seamstress, and my husband, Dave, and I delight in collaborating on repurposed and salvaged furniture pieces and home decor.
